Emirates airline has announced that it is offering free WiFi to all passengers, regardless of their class.

“This development has allowed an additional 30,000 economy class passengers to connect to free WiFi on board each week,” Emirates said, adding that it has invested “over $300 million in on-board connectivity.”

“Passengers simply need to sign up for Emirates Skywards, a simple and free procedure, to access free WiFi. Interested individuals can register on emirates.com, flydubai.com, through the official Emirates app or the flydubai app, and directly from the on-board WiFi portal,” explained the company in its statement.

Emirates airline stated that its passengers have welcomed the increased free connectivity and now have an average of “450,000 users per month.”

“This represents a 30% increase in passenger usage in 2023 compared to the same period last year,” the company’s statement specified.

Currently, according to Emirates, “nearly 10%” of its passengers use the free WiFi on board. “On flights to the Americas, nearly 20% of passengers connect to WiFi on board, and on flights to Europe and Africa, usage exceeds 11% of all passengers,” the company detailed.

Furthermore, it should be noted that Emirates airline operates several flights per week between Dubai Airport and Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers.
