Lufthansa is opening its 5th destination in Finland.

The airline Lufthansa will launch a new route between Munich and Oulu next winter, making it their 5th destination in Finland.

Starting from December 16, 2023, the German national carrier will offer two flights per week between its hub at Munich-Frantz Josef Strauss Airport and Oulu Airport, using Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity of 24 Business Class passengers and 102 Economy Class passengers. Departures are scheduled for Wednesdays at 12:00 PM (arrival at 4:15 PM) and Saturdays at 8:40 AM (arrival at 12:55 PM). The return flights will depart from Oulu Airport on Wednesdays at 5:05 PM (arrival at 7:20 PM) and Saturdays at 1:45 PM (arrival at 4:00 PM), with an average flight duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Lufthansa will operate this route without competition, in addition to its existing destinations in Finland, which include Helsinki, Ivalo, Kittila, and Kuusamo. Oulu is also well-connected to the Finnish capital with multiple daily flights operated by Finnair.

The tweet also mentions that Lufthansa will fly nonstop for the first time from Munich Airport to Oulu, which is one of the northernmost cities in the world, and it will be added to the flight schedule twice a week from December 16, 2023.
